    	<description>The Internet Society (ISOC) today announced it has awarded fellowships to support participation in Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) meetings by 22 technologists from 15 countries in developing regions around the world. The Internet Society is the organizational home of the IETF, the Internet&amp;amp;#039;s premier technical standards body. Twelve fellowship recipients from this round of awards will attend next week&amp;amp;#039;s IETF meeting in Hiroshima, Japan on 8-13 November.</description>

The Internet Society (ISOC), a global non-profit organization founded to provide leadership in Internet related standards, education and policy, has recommended that the Joint Project Agreement between the U.S. Department of Commerce and the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) be concluded on its expiry 30 September, 2009. The Internet Society believes that the continued success of the Internet depends on private leadership and the multi-stakeholder governance model.</description>

The management board is responsible for driving the strategic direction of Liberty Alliance on a global basis.</description>
