Christine Runnegar, Public Policy Manager


Christine RunnegarChristine Runnegar joined the Internet Society in February 2009 as Manager, Public Policy. Working within the Public Policy team, Christine's main duties include working on specific public policy advocacy programs, such as security issues, at regional level, as well as applying her projects management skills to other regional activities, in particular ISOC's INET agenda.

Christine Runnegar was previously an executive lawyer with the Australian Government and brings more than 10 years' experience in competition and consumer protection law, privacy, communications and anti-spam law. Christine is a barrister of the Australian High Court. She has demonstrated strong advocacy skills as well as an in-depth experience in relationships with governments. She has advised on collaborative scientific research ventures involving intergovernmental and private participation, and she has very strong interest in Internet policy, which she developed within IT and telecommunications working groups, as well as from early experience in science and technology.

Christine is Swiss-Australian. She studied law and economics at the Australian National University and speaks both English and Italian.
